Wood Bleach (Oxalic Acid Crystals)
When mixed with hot water, oxalic acid produces a bleach for uncoated wood.
The bleach gently lightens wood without signifacantly raising wood grain,
unlike chlorine based bleaches. Oxalic acid is excellent for bleaching out
black water spots on oak floors.
Directions: Surface Preparation: Wood to be bleached must be free of all
coatings, waxes and oils.
Mixing: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT. Dissolve contents
in one quart of ht water. Stir to dissolve crystals.
Application: Apply hot solution with scrub brush or old paint brush. Apply
liberally allowing solution to remain on surface until bleached to desired
lightness. If solution cools before job is finished, reheat but DO NOT BOIL
SOLUTION. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. Test removal
of bleach from dried wood by wiping surface with a dark colored cloth and
check for powder residue. If powder is present, rinse again with clean water
and allow to dry.
Caution: Toxic irritant. Causes eye burn, skin irritation. Harmful if swallowed.
